General Parameters

The German Country Specific General parameters are located in the System group of the German parameter configuration utility. All parameters are described below:

The addressing parameters are used to customise the German Specific Address forms

Fields

Use district: Tick this parameter if you want to use the district in an address, e.g.: City-District. Note: The district is stored in the database field ADDRESS2 occ.1.

Use salutation file for targets: Tick this parameter to use the Salutation file for targets. Note: The file itself must be EKS General set up as well.

Separate title of nobility: Tick this parameter to store the ‘Title of nobility’ in a separate database field. If activated, the ‘Title of nobility’ is saved in the database field Suffix of the target record. (Currently only used at Classic Car Center.)

Separate Surname and Surname2: Tick this parameter to have two separate fields for long surnames. To have one larger surname field, do not tick the parameter.

Use country file: Tick this parameter to use a country file rather than keying in the country name. Note: The country code is stored in the database field ADDRESS2 occ.2.

Use core country table: If you want to use the country file (previous parameter), tick this parameter as well. It’s compelled. The core country table used is the 00.GB.crnty file, which can be edited by selecting from the Main menu the System Utilities option. Select from the Systems Utilities Main menu the Management menu option. Select from the Management Main menu the Countries option. Be aware that the set-up countries are used elsewhere in Autoline as well!
