The Server connection details form maintains server connection details required for the interfaces concerned. The server connection details are a common use in Autoline.
To create a server connection details record:
Click the Edit > New menu bar command.
You can enter the required information in the fields specified.
Complete the server connection details (the IP number or hostname and Port number fields are mandatory), and click the Edit > Save menu bar command.
The server connection details are validated on IP number or hostname and Port number fields, and the Server ID is automatically generated.
This form is displayed when you want to maintain the server connection details. It is common use in Autoline and can by accessed via several functions.

Edit > Edit | Opens the server connection details record in edit mode. You can make changes to the fields required.

Edit > New | Creates a new server connection details record ready for you to complete. |
Edit > Save | Saves the entered data of the server connection details record. |
Edit > Undo | Abandons any changes you made after you last clicked the Edit toolbar button ![]() ![]() |
Edit > Delete | Deletes the selected server connection details record. |
Help > Help | Displays this help topic in a web browser. |
Help > About | Displays version and copyright information. |
Fields:
Server ID: Displays the unique ID for the server connection details record. This ID is automatically generated when saving a new record.
Description: Enter the description for this remote server entry, this naming is displayed in the concerning Connection configuration fields. The Description is an optional field, if it is left blank then the IP number or hostname and Port number are displayed in the concerning Connection configuration fields.
Connection details:
Protocol: The communication protocol used to build the connection to the remote server. Select required protocol from the list:
HTTPS: Protocol for a secured connection. The default protocol is HTTPS.
HTTP: Protocol for an unsecured connection. HTTP is only allowed for test systems that are not connected over the internet.
IP number or hostname: Enter the IP number or host name of the remote server.
Port number: Enter the port number of the remote server which is used to establish the connection.
Application path: Enter the URL application patch on the remote server.
Connection time out: Enter the time-out in seconds before an error is reported when the connection is not established. Default setting: 10 seconds.
Data time out: Enter the time-out in seconds to wait for data after the request is sent. Default setting: 5 seconds.
Proxy server: Select the proxy server configuration required for this Connection configuration.
Button:
Proxy settings: Opens the Proxy server details form to maintain the proxy server settings required.
Authentication details:
User ID: Enter the user ID which is used for authentication on the remote server. The User ID is an optional field.
Password: Enter password which is used in combination with the User ID for authentication on the remote server. The Password is stored in encrypted format and is an optional field.
