The XENTRY Portal pro interface supports dealers with the diagnosis process for a vehicle in delivering information about the required labour, parts and service (measure) packages. XENTRY portal provides several possibilities to gather relevant labour, part and service packages for the vehicle assigned to a job via the EWA net interfaces (such as WIS/ASRA and EPC) and service measures via interfaces with EVA.
The XENTRY Portal pro interface in Autoline was created to provide an integrated solution for the communication between the Autoline and XENTRY Portal (version 1.4.5) via the data server. The following communication scenarios used:
Synchronous requests initiated by Autoline
Requests initiated in Autoline requiring a direct response (receipt confirmations) from XENTRY Portal.
Synchronous requests initiated by XENTRY Portal
Requests initiated in XENTRY Portal requiring a direct response from Autoline.
Each communication between Autoline and XENTRY Portal contains:
Business context: Provides the XENTRY Portal Pro version, the recipient DMS and which operation & type (service message) is required.
User context: Provides information about the user starting the communication. User ID of XENTRY Portal, User ID of Autoline and preferred language of the user.
Process context: Provides the date and time the communication is started and the Job ID allocated by the InitJob process during export which is used to allocate the Autoline WiP number during import.
Service Message: The actual request or response operation with the information required for the transfer.
The XENTRY Portal pro functionality becomes available in Point-of-Sale when the user starts a new WiP for a customer with a vehicle (either the vehicle is automatically loaded from CRM or the chassis number of the vehicle is directly entered in Point-of-Sale). The user requires a setup according to the user and parameters settings.
The Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Portal Pro Interface form displays information of the current job status when the control is handed over to XENTRY Portal. In addition the display of the XENTRY Portal job is activated when data is received from XENTRY Portal, or, (error) messages are displayed.
To start a job in Autoline for XENTRY Portal:
On the Point-of-Sale from, click the Links > Utilities > XENTRY Portal pro menu bar command.
Autoline will check if the vehicle assigned to the WiP contains a Mercedes-Benz chassis number and validates the XENTRY Portal pro setup and activation. If applicable, Autoline displays a message with the reason why the Xentry Portal pro function is not available.
When an XENTRY job ID is available the TransferJobToAsmRequest is sent otherwise the InitJobRequest is sent.
The WiP is saved in the background and the user is informed of the WiP number created.
Note: Information about the request sent from Autoline is available in the Synchronous Requests queue of the StarConnect data server.
After sending a job to XENTRY Portal or upon opening a WiP previously sent to the portal.
The Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Portal Pro Interface form is displayed containing the status of the WiP.
To receive data for a WiP, locked in Autoline for XENTRY Portal, no actions are required for the user in Autoline. Once the processes, part of the functionality in the XENTRY portal, are completed and the job is sent back to Autoline, the file is automatically received and validated in Autoline.
After successfully sending the confirmation from Autoline that the data was received in good order and condition the job is locked in XENTRY Portal. The WiP remains locked in Autoline until the data received is processed. Messages received are stored in the Inbound queue of the StarConnect data server.
The communication via the StarConnect data server about WiP related data consists of two parts:
Synchronous communication, where data is received over the persistent line and a confirmation is send back to XENTRY Portal whether the message was received in good order or not.
Requests from XENTRY Portal are received over the persistent line. Information about messages received and responses sent are available in the a Persistent line monitor form, to display the message received select the View processed requests menu bar command.
Storing the message in the inbound queue awaiting processing, either:
Directly, when the user is waiting for the data by leaving the Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Portal Pro Interface form open after sending the job to the portal.
When information is required about messages already processed, select the Processed option button in the inbound queue to display processed and archived messages.
Indirectly, when a user opens a WiP linked to an XENTRY Portal job and data is found waiting in the inbound queue.
Messages received, for which the content is not directly processed, are stored in the inbound queue.
The MB XENTRY Portal Pro Interface - WiP Information Update form is displayed, when the Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Portal Pro Interface form is open, or opened the data received (or received earlier and stored in the inbound queue of the StarConnect data server) from XENTRY Portal pro.
This form is displayed when you click the Links > Utilities > XENTRY Portal pro menu bar command on the Point-of-Sale from in case a Mercedes-Benz vehicle is assigned to the WiP. It displays information of the current job status.
The display of the XENTRY Portal button on the Point-of-Sale from depends on the setting within the User details.
