Set Mandatory Or Advisable Fields

The Set Mandatory or Advisable Fields form is used to set fields as mandatory or advisable in the UVS-In form. In addition it is possible to set a default value on specific fields, set the option to copy always VSB contents into the UVS-In contents of a vehicle and block specific fields from modification.

Set Mandatory Or Advisable Fields Form

This form is displayed when you click, one of:

Menu Bar and Action:

Menu bar Action
File > Save Saves the changes and returns to the UVS-In form.
File > Close Returns you to the UVS-In form.

Help > Help Displays this help file in a web browser.

Grid:

Tag value: Displays the database field name.

Description: Displays the description of the tag value.

Mandatory: Select to force the user to enter a value in the regarding field within the UVS-In form.

Advisable: Select to display a warning if no value is entered in the regarding field within the UVS-In form.

Note: The user is able to continue without entering any value if a field is set as advisable.

Default: Enter a value that is taken as default value in the regarding field.

Always VSB: Select to use always the VSB contents in the Actual UVS-In content to be sent column in the UVS-In form.

NOT Modify: If selected, the user is not able to change the contents of the regarding fields.

Set fields as mandatory or advisable

To set fields as mandatory or advisable:

  1. In the UVS-In form, Select File > Mandatory fields from the menu bar.

    The Set mandatory or advisable fields form is displayed.

  2. Select the regarding Tag values within the Mandatory or Advisable column.

  3. Click on Save.

    The UVS-In form is displayed.

    Note: To have the changes available it is necessary to close and reopen the UVS-In form for the selected vehicle.

    Note: If a field is set to mandatory, the user must enter a value in the regarding fields to be able to continue. If a fields is set to advisable, a warning is displayed if the field do not contain any value but the user is able to continue.

Set a default value

To set a default value:

  1. In the UVS-In form, Select File > Mandatory fields from the menu bar.

    The Set mandatory or advisable fields form is displayed.

  2. Enter the default value in the regarding Tag values within the Default column.

  3. Click on Save.

    The UVS-In form is displayed.

    Note: To have the changes available it is necessary to close and reopen the UVS-In form for the selected vehicle.

Copy VSB contents to UVS-In contents

To copy always the VSB contents to the UVS-In contents:

Note: If a field is selected in the Always VSB column, the VSB contents are always copied to the UVS-In contents to be sent column in the UVS-In form.

  1. In the UVS-In form, Select File > Mandatory fields from the menu bar.

    The Set mandatory or advisable fields form is displayed.

  2. Select the regarding Tag values within the Always VSB column.

  3. Click on Save.

    The UVS-In form is displayed.

    Note: To have the changes available it is necessary to close and reopen the UVS-In form for the selected vehicle.

Block fields from modification

To block fields from modification:

  1. In the UVS-In form, Select File > Mandatory fields from the menu bar.

    The Set mandatory or advisable fields form is displayed.

  2. Select the regarding Tag values within the NOT Modify column.

  3. Click on Save.

    The UVS-In form is displayed.

    Note: To have the changes available it is necessary to close and reopen the UVS-In form for the selected vehicle.
