Address validation

The Address validation interface is used to validate addresses on the address validation server. You need to set up these parameters correctly in order to use the interface.

Note: Be aware that you need to set up the parameters per CRM company as well as the parameters for company MB.

Validation Rules Tab - (CRM companies)

Fields

Address line 1 indicator: In case no country specifics are used, this parameter indicates what information you can find on line 1 of the address box in CRM. Data received from address validation server is placed on this line.

Address line 2 indicator: In case no country specifics are used, this parameter indicates what information you can find on line 2 of the address box in CRM. Data received from address validation server is placed on this line.

Address line 3 indicator: In case no country specifics are used, this parameter indicates what information you can find on line 3 of the address box in CRM. Data received from address validation server is placed on this line.

Address line 4 indicator: In case no country specifics are used, this parameter indicates what information you can find on line 4 of the address box in CRM. Data received from address validation server is placed on this line.

Address line 5 indicator: In case no country specifics are used, this parameter indicates what information you can find on line 5 of the address box in CRM. Data received from address validation server is placed on this line.

Note: These parameters are are only used for retrieving data. The storage of data is not affected.


If users has the right to validate an address automatically, you have to set up the For home address and For PO Box fields.

In this case, validation can start from different points. Since the input of address data when using country specifics can differ from the standard input, there is also made a distinction in the parameters.

For home address: Select from the list the starting point of the address validation when changing the home address (Using Country Specifics).

For PO Box: Select from the list the starting point of the address validation, when changing the PO Box address (Using Country Specifics).

If Country Specifics is not used, you must set up the third parameter to activate the automatic address validation (No Country Specifics).

General address validation Tab - (company MB)

Fields

Address validation server active: Tick to indicate that the address validation interface is active.

Log address validation actions: Tick to indicate that all address validation actions are created in log files.

Host name: Indicates the host name of the address validation server.

IP address host: Indicates the IP address of the address validation server.

Use HTTPS: Tick to use the HTTPS connection instead of HTTP. If ticked, you have to change the Proxy IP address and the Connect to port fields to the settings of HTTPS S-tunnel IP and HTTPS S-tunnel port, in order to enable the HTTPS connection.

Proxy IP address: Indicates the IP address of the proxy server, if a proxy server is used.

Connect to port: Indicates the HTTP port to make the connection. When you leave this field blank the HTTP port 80 is used.

Request path: Indicates the path on the address validation server where to the connection is made.

Max tries: Indicates the maximum attempts that the receiving of message(s) from address validation is tried.

HTTP version: Indicates the version of HTTP that is used for the communication.

Address validation company: Only used by Germany to establish the connection to the address validation server.

XML version: Indicates XML version regarding the messages.

Encoding: Indicates the ISO encoding of the address in XML messages.

Request URL: Indicates the request script that is performed to do the address validation.

Address validation user name: Indicates the login name of the address validation server.

Address validation password: Indicates the password of the address validation server.

Address validation profile: Indicates the profile that is used to validate the addresses.

Default time out sec.: Indicates the time-out between the checks (in seconds).

Iso country code: Indicates the country code that is used in the XML messages, when no country code was determined via the customer or company.

Request ID: Displays the number of requests done via the address validation interface.

Field

Exclude locations: Select the CRM locations that you want to exclude from the validation process. Blue lines are excluded (valid in manual/automatic validation and in the batch validation).
