General Parameters

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer-specific > MB. Mercedes-Benz > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + System parameters > + General Parameters > MB. Mercedes-Benz on the Project parameters browser.

General:

System manager priority: Enter the minimum priority a user requires to execute system manager tasks.


Euro:

System name for EURO: Enter the name the system uses for Euro.


Chrysler:

Use SPICS for CJ: Select to use SPICS instead of the Chrysler DIAL system for Chrysler Jeep. The parts are delivered in the Mercedes-Benz Price File. The Chrysler part number is extended with the letter K to indicate Chrysler part.

Note: The backorder visibility MOPAR program is only used when the Use SPICS for CJ is selected.

Backorder visibility MOPAR transmission no: Displays the transmission number of the export file created. This is automatically updated.


Communication:

Transfer base directory: Enter the Transfer Base Directory, used by the Communication program.

Note: The Transfer base directory should include an absolute path, relative path names (starting with ./ or ../) will cause XSD validation errors when exchanging data with XENTRY Portal pro.

Communication e-mail: Enter the User ID to whom an email is sent by the Communication program.

Special EBCDIC character: Select, if the special EBCDIC character must be used in the Communication program. (Replace Hex(FF) by 5C).


MB priority checking:

Use MS/MB global priority checking: Select to activate the new MB global priority checking.

Note: Currently only used for the MB Communication module.

Check user priority on MS/MB level: Select to check the priority of an user of Manufacturing Systems level against the System manager priority. Cleared means that the user priority is checked on Systems Utilities level.

When the priority of a level is equal or higher then the System manager priority, the user has all access rights in the forms of the Mercedes-Benz Utilities menu.

Master price file priority: Enter the minimum priority required on Stock Management level to modify the Master price file.


Chassis and commission number validation:

Deactivate MB chassis validation: Select to deactivate the MB chassis validation. This field is unavailable when the environment variable MBCHECKVIN has been set.

Commission validation: The options available are different on Mercedes-Benz systems and Niederlassungen (NDL) systems. This field is unavailable when the environment variable MSMBCOMMISSIONVAL has been set.
