Point-of-Sale

The interface is designed to select parts in the Mercedes-Benz Electronic Parts Catalogue felxible publishing, create a shopping list and load the parts into a job order within the Autoline Point-of-Sale module. This topic assumes that you are familiar with the operation of Point-of-Sale and the flexible EPC.

Building a shoppinglist

Because the EPC Flexible Publishing is not capable of retrieving vehicle information from Autoline, it is not necessary to have a vehicle on your WIP, but it is easier to have one attached. In order for the software to operate correctly, you must manually type a chassisnumber in the flexible EPC.

To build a shopping list and load labour items onto a WIP:

  1. Load a vehicle onto a WIP.

  2. To start EPC, do one of the following:

  3. Select the required items from EPC to build a shoppinglist.

  4. Use the Insert key to add parts to you shoppinglist and the Delete key to remove them. To double quantities, press the Insert key again.

  5. When you have created a shopping list, press the ALT and Tab keys together to return to Autoline.

  6. The system loads the data directly into the EPC Flexible Publishing Interface Form.

  7. Deselect any items that you do not want to load onto the WIP.

Tip: All items are selected by default. To deselect or select an item, click the Load column. Ensure that a tick symbol appears against any items that you want to load.

  8. Click the Load to Wip button.

The system loads the selected labour items onto the WIP.

  9. You can now process the WIP in the normal way.
