Purging Point of Sale notes

Point of Sale files are purged depending on POS parameter setting. To prevent the Mercedes-Benz notes file from becoming very big and slow, the file is checked against the WIP header file.

Meaning if the WIP header in Point of Sale is purged, the notes for the WIP are purged as well. To purge the Notes file, you must:

Select from the Main menu the Manufacturer Systems option, combined with company MB.
Select from the Mercedes-Benz Main menu the Menu - Service option.
Select from the Mercedes-Benz Service menu the Menu - Classic Car Center option.
Select from the Classic Car Center menu the Cleanup POS notes option.
The Clean up Point of Sale notes form is displayed.

All options on the form are explained below.

Exit - The Exit option allows you to exit the program.
Scan - Selecting the Scan option scans through all the notes lines and checks if the WIP header is still available. Lines for which the WIP header does not exist anymore are displayed in the grid.
Clean up - The Clean up option purges the scanned notes lines displayed in the grid from the Notes file.
Help - Selecting the Help option opens the Help function.

To purge the notes file, you must:

Select the required Point of Sale company from the dropdown or select ** for all companies.
Select the Scan icon from the Toolbar.
All the notes lines found without a WIP header present are displayed in the grid.

Again are the parts lines displayed in green, the labour lines are displayed in blue. Selecting the Notes column of the line, displays the notes.

To purge Notes lines, tick the C column for the lines that must be purged. Ticking the header of the grid will tick or untick all lines for purging.

If one or more lines is/are set for cleaning up, the Clean up icon in the Toolbar is enabled.

To purge the selected lines, you must:

Select the Clean up icon from the Toolbar.
A Warning message is displayed; select the Yes button to continue.

The selected Notes lines are purged after selecting the Yes button.
