Communication Archive

The second tab, the Communication Archive contains all files that were sent or received in the past. The files are held in a compressed format on disk.

Fields on the Communication Archive tab

All the fields on the Communication Archive tab are explained below.

• Type - The type of request that is used for the defaults.
• Send - This shows whether it is an outgoing or an incoming communication.
• Company - This is the company that was involved in the communication.
• e-mail - This is the e-mail address that was contacted about the communication.
• Date - Date of the transmission.
• Time - Time of the transmission.
• Filename - Filename of the transmitted file.
• Directory - Remote directory where the filename is sent.

If you click one of the lines, the Communication Archive screen with the archive details appears.

When you click the Communication Archive tab, the Communication Archive screen with processed communication request is shown.

Below an explanation of the fields on the screen is given:

• Magic - The magic number of the transmission.
• Type - Type of communication.
• Company - The company for which the file was transmitted.
• Input or Output - Was the file incomming or outgoing.
• E-mail - When the file was processed, an e-mail was send to...
• Transmission date - Date of transmission.
• Transmission time - Time of transmission.
• Archived filename - Name of the archived file.
• Remote directory - The remote directory to which the file was send.
• Remote filename - The filename the file had on the remote system.

The screen gives the following possibilities:

• Exit - The exit option allows you to exit the Communication archive screen.
• View - This shows the file as it was received or transmitted. Files are kept in the system in their original format (so if it was ebcdic….) Conversion takes place according to the parameters.

• Retransmit in case of an outgoing request - The file will be placed back to the 'waiting' directory. A screen will be offered to set the right values for transmission.

• Retransmit in case of an incoming request - The original file as received will be placed in the 'receive' directory and will beconverted according to the parameters.

• Help - The Help button opens the Help system.
