Before you can start calculating the retails and whole sales prices, you must make sure that the General settings are correct.
The General settings can be edited from the General-setting menu.
The previous concept of the Parts retail price calculation was based on the master price file, which could link to one local market. The new Calculate Parts Retail Prices program has been based upon a separate 'market' price file.
These 'market' master price files are considered to be the base for the parts-retail price calculation in which parts can be created and/or updated and also can they be maintained by different stock companies.
As the Calculated Parts Retail Prices program is based on markets, you must set up the markets for which you want to calculate the local price.
To add a market, select the grid with a right mouse click and select the Insert row option from the menu.
After you have set up the markets, you must set up the currency rates which you have assigned to the markets.
As setting up the markets, the currency rates can be set up by selecting the Insert option from the right mouse click menu.
The rounding parameters, which are used to round the calculated prices must be set up per Currency code.
Setting up the Rounding parameters is done in the same way as setting up the Markets and Currency rates.
The Default leading franchise stock-company is indicated by the Mercedes-Benz parameters, but if there can be more leading-stock-companies present, or stock-companies have defined other franchise-codes, it is necessary to identify these via the General-Settings in the retail-price-calculation-module.
The Stock Companies option has two tabs. The Leading stock companies tab gives the possibility to define the leading stock companies for parts in the price file. The Create parts tab gives the possibility to set up criteria for creating parts from the stock file into the price file.
The Marketing codes in the price file can indicate what stock company is the owner of parts in the price file. This 'ownership' of a part by a certain stock company is used to have the correct stock data which is used were ever applicable.
The master-price file initially contains all parts, which are uploaded via a price file(s) supplied by DC. This file will contain standard MB parts, but can also contain SMART or Chrysler parts. It is possible that for these SMART or Chrysler parts a separate stock company is created.
In that case the default stock company parameter on the Price File parameters is not sufficient for the calculation and the ranges on the Leading stock tab must be set up.
The information in the Master Price File will be the basis for the calculation. When calculating retail prices for local markets data is needed from the Stock Management stock record.
In some case the price file delivered by the manufacturer does not contain all parts that must be in the price file the importer wants to create for it's dealer. Example, the parts for MB 100 vehicles are in Asia not in the price file but they must be in the dealer price file.
The Create Parts tab gives the possibility to set up ranges of parts, which must be created from the stock file into the price file.
Note: The Line class field on the stock record should contain the Vendor code of the parts and the Model code field should contain the complete Marketing code of the part.
