Importing SPPS ASCII Menu Packages

Before you can use Menu Pricing, the manufacturer-supplied, menu-pricing packages must be imported into the Autoline system.

Note: Access to the Menu pricing maintenance functions is controlled by user priorities.

Importing Menu Packages via ASCII Upload

To import menu packages via ASCII upload:

  1. Click the New product [...] ellipsis > Menus on the Service Point of Sale form.

    The Mercedes-Benz Menupricing form is displayed.

  2. Click the Import > Ascii import menu bar command.

    The Import Menupackages via Ascii-file upload form is displayed.

  3. Click OK, Upload.

    This starts the upload of the SPPS ASCII import files. The progress indicator gauge indicates the status/progress of the upload.

Import Menupackages via ASCII-File Upload Form

This form is displayed when you click the New product [...] ellipsis > Menus from the Point of Sale Service form, then the Import > Ascii import menu bar command on the Mercedes-Benz Menupricing form. It enables you to import menu packages via Ascii upload.

Ascii-file to be uploaded: Defines the path and name of the SPPS extracted menu packages data interface. This import data field is pre-defined from Menu pricing parameters.

Descriptions to be uploaded in language: Select the required import language.

Upload ONLY descriptions: If selected, this check box indicates that the import should only upload menu-package descriptions.

Packages with type=FR should be deleted before import: If selected, this check box indicates that any menu packages with a type of FR are to be deleted prior to any new Menu packages' being imported.

Progress indicator gauge: Displays the progress of the import process.

Buttons:

Upload Ascii-file from the Autoline-server: Indicates that the Ascii-file to be uploaded is located on the main, Autoline server in a pre-defined directory path.

Upload Ascii-file from your local PC: Indicates that the Ascii-file to be uploaded is located on your local PC in the pre-defined folder path.

OK, Upload: Starts the importation of the provided SPPS menu-package interface. This creates/maintains menu pricing data structures that are used with Point of Sale.

Note: The OK, Upload button only becomes available when the ASCII import file is found on the specified server or local PC.

Cancel: Cancels the process and returns to the main Menu pricing form.
