User IDs and Passwords render each user unique in the system, enabling individual priority levels and permissions to be allocated to each user. This also enables electronic mail and electronic diary functions to operate for each individual via the Autoline Electronic Administrator.
The method of logging into the system is similar regardless of the kind of terminal used. Login forms vary but all prompt for a 'login'.
Tip: Obtain your user ID and Password from your system manager before attempting to log in.
To log in:
Type your ID, with letters in lower case, and press the RETURN key on the keyboard.
The system prompts for your Password.
Enter your Password and click the OK button.
Tip: The Password is case sensitive. It is not displayed, thus preventing other people from seeing it.
You get one of the following two results:
If the system does not find a match for both your ID and the Password, it returns you to the login prompt -- see step 1.
If the ID and Password are accepted, the Autoline master menu is displayed.
Note: If your version of Autoline has customised menus, instead of the master menu one of two slightly different customised menus is displayed. If you are using Windows DW version 3 or above, a set of Windows-type buttons is displayed, representing up to ten of the most common functions on the system. If you are using DW emulation, a form with the relevant options is displayed. In either case, select the master menu to use the Autoline system.
