The Bodyshop Estimating module acts as a "translator" between estimating packages, such as Glassmatix, Audatex, Shopwatch, Quoites, etc. (referred to as subsystems) and the Autoline system.
Autoline allows an estimate exported by a subsystem to be imported into the Bodyshop Estimating module where it is translated. System links with other Autoline modules are then enabled leading to the creation of a Work In Progress job number (wipno), in the Point-of Sale module.
Management information is provided by means of log files containing details of, and the reasons for, any changes to estimates. A set of coded fields allows Bodyshop managers to monitor an estimates status and any changes that have occurred.
This menu is displayed when you select the Bodyshop estimating interface option from the Master Menu. From the Bodyshop Estimating main menu you can carry out almost all aspects of the administration of the Bodyshop Estimating function. The Bodyshop Estimating menu comprises the following elements:
Estimate maintenance: Allows you to administer and process estimates, both imported and created, using the Estimate Maintenance form.
Import estimate from subsystem: Allows you to import and process estimates from various subsystems, using the Import From Subsystem form.
Reports and enquiries: The facilities of the Report Generator sub-system are common to all Autoline programs. These facilities allow you to create your own reports from any combination of the fields on your records, and formulate enquiries using field and verb references.
Miscellaneous options: Allows you to perform system configuration. Many of these only concern the systems supervisor.
System maintenance: Allows you to carry out system management. Many of these options are only available to high priority users and are only used by the System Manager or other authorized person with appropriate access priority.
ADP utilities: This option is only displayed to priority 9 users. It is normally only used by Autoline support personnel and consultants.
