The Build glass database option allows you to build a database of Glass automobile valuations. To build this database the following three options should be followed and completed.
Tip: It is also possible to directly upload files without using a floppy.
Select the Upload files from CAP floppy radio button, tick the Use CD check box only if uploading data via a CD
Tip: Ensure that the Glass's floppy disk is inserted into your diskette drive. There may be more than one disc, you will be prompted to change discs.
Click the Process button.
Using a CD Once the process button has been selected a browser will open select the D drive (or whatever your CD drive letter is on your PC) Drill down into the directories and find the required folder that contains the raw-car.exe file, click the file and take the Select option to confirm your choice.A message box will display "Press continue to start file transfer" - select the required action Continue or Continue
This Batch File will copy and expand the files from the disc onto your Hard Disk and put them in a directory called C:\GLASS as in System parameters. If the directory does not exist on the PC it will create it. If the files already exist a overwrite message will be prompted. Once the files have been copied the DOS window will close and an action box will prompt "Confirm Input - Press continue when files have finished transferring."
Click Continue or OK both with return to the Import screen.
The import form is displayed again but the Upload files from PC radio button is selected and a square box is displayed in the middle of the form.
Choose an option from the list of files to upload. Click the required option to select it then click Process to upload files.
The files are uploaded.
When the floppy has run the import screen is displayed again but the Upload files from PC radio button is selected and a square box is displayed in the middle of the form. Choose an option from the list of files to upload. Click the required option to select it then click Process to upload files.
It may be the case that the Glass's data is not supplied to you on a floppy. It is possible to save the raw Glass data directly onto the PC directory. If this is done you must inflate the raw data by clicking on the raw data file saved on the PC. This will inflate the files onto the PC in the same way as the floppy upload. When this process is complete select the Build Glass's database from raw data radio button and click Process to build the database.
When the Upload files from PC process is complete the radio button will move to the Build Glass's database from raw data option and the text will be displayed in red. Click the Process button to continue. This will produce a progress box called "Converting raw Glass's data". Each file that is converted will be listed as the conversion is done.
Warning: Build Glass's database will overwrite any existing data. Please ensure all required data types are selected e.g. All files or Cars.
Once the above processes have been completed, the data will be available to use in Glass's Valuation.

Help: Displays help on the current application in your default company browser.
Process: Click to process the required data.
