This form is displayed when you select the add option while in the Form definitions grid on the Forms tab of the script editor. The add option is either selected by clicking the add icon from the tool bar or selecting add from the right click action in the grid.
The form facilitates the adding and naming of new script forms using several method of creation. Control of the form and the options available is dependant on the radio buttons selected. Due to functionality of this form the layout of this help file will be different in that the options available will be discussed when the radio option which control them is described.
The create new option allows the creation of a new script form this can either be a new blank form which can be amended later or a new form which is a copy of a previously created template.
Other options available when the create new radio button is selected are:
The default option button setting is Average font (12). You can select another font:-
Enormous (24): twenty-four point text font
Very loud (18): Eighteen point text font
Big and brash (14): Fourteen point text font
Average (12): Twelve point text font
Fine (10): Ten point text font
Small and detailed (8): Eight point text font
After selecting the include template tick box you can open a previously created form to use and a template for the new form. If you want to use a template, tick the Include template box and select the appropriate item from the list below it. If a template form is not required remove the tick from the box to disable the templates pane.
Note: Include template: If no template is required you must remove the tick from the tick box. This field is activated by default and the highlighted option is used regardless of whether it has been re selected or not.
Check box: A tick indicates that you can select a form template if any are available.
List box: The selected filename is included in the script entry form.
The use pre-defined radio button to enable selection of a previously created from which includes additional system functionality. Once selected you can select a pre-defined form from the pre-defined drop down.
Pre-defined forms currently available are:-
Work details: Gives access to the the full Service Point of Sale wip creation screens.
Diary: Facilitates service and courtesy car bookings.
Call closure: Standard call closure form.
The copy existing option allows you to use a form already being used in the script to create the new form. After selecting the copy existing option the form you want to use can be selected using the ellipsis search on the Form to copy controls from field. Other controls on this form include:
Form to copy controls from: Use the Ellipsis button to select an existing form from a pop-up menu dialog box.
Use standard form: A tick indicates that a standard form is used.
Tip: Use the down-arrow to select from a drop-down menu of standard forms
Before the new form can be created it must have a name. After the form is named the OK button is enabled.
Note: There is no restriction on what a form can be called but the form name is displayed when the script is run. Naming the form something relevant can help you to identify it at a later date.
GRAPHIC BUTTONS:
Edit form: Enables you to amend the form, for example adding fields and subroutines.
Edit text: This option will not be enabled until a rich text item has been added to the form. When selected the Rich text editor form is opened.
Clear form: Resets the form to its original blank condition, erasing any content you have input.
Note: If Kform is not installed on your system, the text KForm is not installed is displayed in red below the graphic buttons.
