This program allows you to move any one option of a vehicle specification to any other. It is set out as a wizard to make the process quick and easy. The same option code cannot exist twice in the same franchise but prices and specs can be copied.
To copy options between models:
From the Build specification screen click on the button, you will then be prompted with a sub-menu, select Options from the sub-menu.
The copy option wizard is displayed, the wizard automates the most common tasks involving the copying of options between franchises, models and variants, its steps are as follows:
Selection of a source date.
Selection of options from franchises, models and/or variant.
Optional creation of prices/specification.
Selection of destination franchise, model and/or variant.
Final confirmation.
This displays a form to enable users to select a source date, which the copy process will take the prices and specification from.
To disable this feature, click on the box.
To use the source date option, choose the date from which you would like to base the date for copying the option, prices and specifications.
Click on the button to change the date.
Note: The date will default to today's date.
This displays options once selected, this facility allows you to add and remove, to do so click the Amend button.
The form displays the following fields:
Franchise.
Model.
Variant.
Type.
Option.
Amend: Allows you to add the options required to continue.
Select source: This allows users to select the franchise, model and/or variant for selection, by selecting these this will display any options in the selection option(s)
Option selection: This will display any valid options from the chosen source.
Add options: This will display options selected from the option selection.
The following screen will display all options selected for the specific franchise, model and/or variant. The grid will be displayed, the option to amend any from the selection can be made at this time. Click on the Amend button.
This screen allows you to create a specification and price for each of the options pre-selected. If you do not wish to assign a price you may leave the appropriate field blank.
The form displays the following fields:
Type.
Option.
Start date.
Price.
Flag.
Notes.
Availability: Allows the user to choose the appropriate availability for the option.
Note: If the source date is being used when copying options feature, then the availability and any notes from the source option, will be populated on this form. The option to change these fields is still available.
This section of the process allows users to choose what franchise, model or variant, they wish to copy to. Multiple destination vehicles can be selected.
The form displays the following fields:
Franchise.
Model.
Variant.
Add: Allows the franchise(s), model(s) and/or variant(s) to be selected.
This screen allows users to ensure that before copying the options to various franchise, model(s), and/or variant(s), they have selected the criteria correctly, also a selection of questions need to be read and completed appropriately before continuing.
The form displays the following questions:
If an option already exists in the destination with the option code, would you like to overwrite it?
If a price already exists in the destination with the same option code and start date, would you like to overwrite it?
If a spec already exists in the destination with the same option code and start date, would you like to overwrite it?
If option notes already exist in the destination with the same option code and start date, would you like to overwrite it?
Buttons:
Next: Allows you to move to the next screen in the copying process, this will only be highlighted when all relevant fields are completed.
Back: Allows you to go back a step in the copying process.
Finish: Begins the copy process of options between franchise(s), model(s) and/or variant(s).
Cancel: Returns you to the DD Build Specification form.
OK: Completes the copying process and returns you to the Build Specification form.
Help: Displays help on the current application using the default browser.
