Selection of Fines from the Maintenance Control Main Menu or selection of
the
icon opens the Fines Maintenance screen.
This option records details of fines and fixed penalty notices. It also allows fines to be recharged to the customer, together with a surcharge if required.
This screen is split into four parts that are as follows:
In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of other useful identification criteria and buttons.
The content of the Fines Maintenance menu bar is dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full menu bar contents, however, are as follows:
Contains the following menu options:
Opens the Fine Details screen so that a new fine/penalty may be recorded.
Opens the Fine Details screen so that an existing fine/penalty may be edited. If fines have not yet been posted through to the accounts system then they may be edited and posted using this option.
Opens the Fine Details screen so that an existing fine/penalty may be viewed.
Opens the Fine Details screen so that an existing fine/penalty may be deleted.
Exit
Exits to the Maintenance Control screen.
Opens the Fine Details screen so that an existing fine/penalty may be posted.
Processes the fine and posts the record through to the fleet invoice pending file (IPEND) for processing into the accounts system. The posting process raises a recharge invoice to the customer using the details created. A purchase transaction is also raised in order to pay the fine. The purchase ledger account number that is used is held in the Fine Type record specified.
Opens the Fine Details screen so that an existing fine/penalty may be reversed from accounts. The system prompts Reverse Fine From Accounts> . Selection of the Yes command button reverses the fine posting and the text in the posting record line becomes blue.
Provides online access to a context sensitive Help screen.

This area of the screen contains a grid of fine/penalty records held on file for the currently selected vehicle. The following fields are displayed in the grid:
The date on which the offence occurred.
A textual description of the fine attached to the Fine Type code created within Miscellaneous Options.
A text reference. This may be the reference number shown on the fine document or a court reference.
The value of the fine.
A checkbox which, if ticked, denotes that an authority is required to post this fine type. This value is selected in the Fines Grid in the Maintenance Control Tab in Address Groups.
A single-left-click on the appropriate fine record line results in the display of a mini menu containing the following menu options:
