SORT

Overview

The Sort facility may be selected from the Tools Menu Bar option or the icon on the toolbar. This presents a Sort box which enables the default sort value within the Output Tab (which mirrors the data input selection order within the Vehicle Tab) to be edited for the current ratesbook quotation. The default can be overridden within the Sort form by manipulating a number of fields within the dialogue box:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Sort Dialogue Box

The default sort value within the Output Tab mirrors the data input selection order within the Vehicle Tab. This can be overridden within the Sort form by manipulating the fields within the dialogue box. Three sorts (primary; secondary; and tertiary) can be performed on the selected data within the Output Tab:

• Sort by

Selects the data field upon which a primary sort is carried out. A drop-down list of the following options are currently available by selecting the down-arrow button:

• None

No sort is carried out.

• Manufacturer

Selection of this option performs an ascending alphabetical sort upon the vehicle manufacturer description.

• Model

Selection of this option performs an ascending alphabetical sort upon the vehicle model description.

• Variant

Selection of this option performs an ascending alphabetical sort upon the vehicle variant description. The Sort dialogue box presents this option as the default primary sort.

• List Price

Selection of this option performs an ascending numerical sort upon the vehicle list price.

• OTR

Selection of this option performs an ascending numerical sort upon the vehicle "On The Road" price.

• P11D

Selection of this option performs an ascending numerical sort upon the vehicle P11D price.

• 1st Rental

Selection of this option performs an ascending numerical sort upon the vehicle rental value for the first finance profile/mileage selected within the Finance Tab.

• Then by

Selects the data field upon which a secondary sort is carried out. The same selections available for the primary sort (above) are also made available here by selecting the down-arrow button:

• Then by

Selects the data field upon which a tertiary sort is carried out. The same selections available for the primary/secondary sorts (above) are also made available here by selecting the down-arrow button:

Command Buttons

The Command Buttons in the Sort form function as follows:

• Cancel

Returns to the Output Tab of the ratesbook form without performing a sort.

• Sort

Having entered the required value(s) in the sort fields, the Sort command button is selected. A series of blue boxes is displayed in the "progress display" area as an indicator of progress made on the current sort.

The sort is in ascending alphanumerical order.
