Master Price File

Note: This help system contains standard information only. Click the Help button on the relevant form or menu to display any manufacturer-specific help. Alternatively, a help file may exist in the Table of Contents specific to your manufacturer.

The master price file is a catalogue of parts showing all available part numbers and descriptions. Standard functionality exists that enables you to create and maintain records on the master price file.

Note: If the manufacturer or parts supplier issue updates to the master price file, it is unlikely that you will ever need to make changes, unless advised to do so. Any changes that you make will be overwritten the next time an update is uploaded.

To access the master price file:

  1. From the OPERATIONS menu, select the Parts price file menu option.

    The MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU is displayed.

  2. Select the Master price file option.

    The Master Parts Price File form is displayed.

Master Parts Price File Form

This form is displayed when you select the Master price file option on the MASTER PARTS PRICE FILE MENU. The form enables you to display and maintain records on the master price file.

Following is a description of the fields on the price file in the global (00) company. For full details of the contents of the manufacturer's master price file, refer to the manufacturer's own documentation.

Note: The fields marked with an asterisk (*) can be used to update the stock file. For further details, refer to Updating the Stock File from the Price File.

Part number: Supplier's part number prefixed by the franchise code

Description*: Free text description of the part

Retail price*: Supplier's recommended selling price

Surcharge*: Exchange unit surcharge value

Date created: Date the record was first converted

Date updated: Date the record was last converted

Model code: Vehicle model to which the part applies

Alternative desc*: Further descriptive text for the part

Superseding part: Replacement/alternative part number

Note: If there are superseding part numbers on your master price file, you can build a supersession chain from the master price file.

Discount code*: Supplier's discount code

Cost in Euros: Cost price of the part in Euros

Retail price in Euro: Supplier's recommended selling price in Euros

Unit of measure: Descriptive text for the supplier pack quantity

Weight: Total weight of the supplier pack quantity, in kilograms

Intrastat code: Up-to nine-character code used for reporting the movement of stock across European borders. Useful for manufacturers/dealers who need to produce valid reports for the European Union (EU).

Country of origin: Three-character code that denotes the country of origin

VOC content: Volatile Organic Compounds content, in the format ####.##

Cost price*: Cost price of the part
