In a multi-franchise environment, it can be used to group all vehicles with cloth trim, as opposed to those with leather trim, etc., with or without colour sub definition, as the dealer sees fit. Even in a single franchise environment, it can provide continuity across specific trim changes such as Epsom grey cloth being replaced by Chester grey cloth, or beige leather being replaced by light tan leather, etc. In that way, using the generic trim or cab type code, vehicle park and sales analysis data across different specific trim or cab type codes is possible. Generic Trim Code: This field consists of three characters,which symbolize what kind of trim the vehicle has, for example CLO.
Trim Description: This field describes the trim of the vehicle, for example Cloth.
Red colour value: This field will contain a number, this number identifies the quantity of red contained within the selected colour. (if not applicable should be set to -1.)
Green colour value: This field will contain a number, this number identifies the quantity of green contained within the selected colour. (if not applicable should be set to -1.)
Blue colour value: This field will contain a number, this number identifies the quantity of blue contained within the selected colour. (if not applicable should be set to -1.)
Picture: This field contains the picture code for the relevant colour. (if applicable)

If generic trim or cab type analysis in this way is not required then a single code of blank should be set up and, in that way, you will be able to pass over this field when creating or amending specific trim or cab type records.
When deleting records from this file, or amending the definition of existing codes, full consideration should be given to the impact on the existing CRM company database so far as any records which may refer to the code or codes being deleted are concerned.
