Priority 8 or 9.
Note: A record should be created for each company that will be using GM Exchange. An entry must be made in the dealer map file for each General Motors dealer number - even if there is only one Aftersales company. This option can be used to map the GM dealer code for one Aftersales company to another that operates as a satellite dealer.
Dealer Branch Mapping is used to map satellite branches to main dealer branches that have common General Motors dealer numbers. The mapping is required because transaction sequence numbers are General Motors dealership number-specific; if a satellite location submits a transaction, the sequence number for the main dealer company number needs to be updated.
To access dealer branch mapping:
From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu, select the Exchange 1.1 option.
The Point-of-Sale Company selection form is displayed.
Select the (Aftersales) Point-of-Sale Company required.
The GM Exchange Transmissions and Receipts form is displayed.
Select Tools > Dealer Branch Mapping.
The Standard File Editor is displayed, containing a grid of company mapping information.
Tip: Select Help > Overview for general help on using the Standard File Editor.
