The Drill-down visibility option provides a means of security. This prevents users from accessing information outside of their domain.
To review Drill down visibility:
From the Master menu select the Management accounts option and the company you require.
The MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS menu is displayed.
Select Miscellaneous options option.
The MA MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu is displayed.
Select the Drill-down visibility option.
The Drill-down visibility form is displayed.
The Drill-down Visibility form is displayed when the Drill-down visibility option is selected from the MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu.
Orientation: The orientation is either 1 or 2 to determine the orientation of the initial view on entry, i.e. which axis is at the top and which axis is down the side.
- 1 = COST CENTRE at top and EXPENSE CODE down side
- 2 = EXPENSE CODE at top and COST CENTRE down side
Top key or Side key: The top and side keys provide a degree of restriction to the hierarchy. For example if you wanted some users to only see the Balance sheet and not the Net profit figures then you would place a mask on the top key. This key may be built up by entering valid drill levels of a particular axis.
Note: For each user-id, the level of visibility that they are allowed must be defined. Providing a user is allowed full access the Top key and Side key fields should be left blank.
For example:
Top key = 0201 - This would only allow you to see into the third level of drill on the top axis and all the levels on the side axis.
