Vehicles RecordsThe MOT log form is displayed when you select the MOT log option from CRM Miscellaneous Options Menu.
Serial No of test: In this field you should enter the certificate serial number.
Registration number: This field will have been pre-filled with the registration of the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) vehicle record attached to the job record.
Make and engine size/GVW: This field will have been pre-filled with one of two possible combinations of data. For a passenger car or a light commercial vehicle, the franchise of the vehicle will be the first element of the data, followed by the engine size to the nearest one hundred c.c. For a heavy commercial vehicle, the gross vehicle weight will be added to the franchise code. The operator can correct any of these details as deemed necessary.
Diesel: If the vehicle runs on diesel fuel, a 'Y' for Yes should be entered here. If it does not run on diesel, this field should be left blank.
Aprx year 1st use: This field will have been pre-filled with the year of first registration (assuming that this data is present on the vehicle record) expressed as the last two digits of the year (98 or 99, etc.).
Class of test: The class of MOT test in the range 1 to 7 should be entered here.
Initially satisfac'y: If the test was initially satisfactory, that is, the vehicle passed the test first time, the letter 'Y' for Yes should be entered here. If the vehicle failed the test first time then this field should be left blank.
Init. unsatisfactory: If the test was not initially satisfactory, that is, the vehicle failed the test first time, the letter 'Y' for Yes should be entered here. If the vehicle passed the test first time then this field should be left blank.
Defects_1 to Defects_10: This field is divided into ten individual indicators as to the aspect of the vehicle that was defective and caused the vehicle to fail the test initially. These are as follows: Lighting, Steering, Brakes, Tyres, Registration or VIN number, Drivers view, Petrol emissions, Diesel emissions, Other defects, Other defects. For each aspect of the vehicle that was initially defective, a 'Y' for Yes should be entered here, otherwise the fields should be left blank.
Certificate type: The type of MOT certificate should be entered here. The current certificate types are as follows: RT C D or RP.
Date of test: The date on which the test was carried out should be entered here. This field will default to the current system date, but can be overtyped by you if necessary.
Name of inspector: The name of the MOT test inspector should be entered here.
Company number: The company number of the Point-of-Sale system that created the record (where appropriate).
