The Resource/POS Operator Mapping form allows you to map a workshop loading resource to a POS operator. This will be used as the Owning operator in Point-of-Sale and is displayed on the Operators tab on a WIP. The Owning operator is a resource which can be created with the resource type of A for advisor or it can be a technician. This is used when loading a WIP and using the Service advisor Meet and Greet parameters in workshop loading.
Note: The Point-of-Sale system parameter Record operators in WIP must be set when using the Owning Operator in Point-of-Sale.
The Owning operator will then be held on the WIP in the Owning Operator field, and is updated when you do one of the following:
Unassign the Appointment and re-book to another advisor resource. If this is assigned to a technician who has the skill to be an advisor the Owning operator will be set to the same as the Creating operator.
Cut and Paste the Appointment and re-book to another advisor resource. If this is assigned to a technician who has the skill to be an advisor the Owning operator will be set to the same as the Creating operator.
Change the Owning Operator manually if you have the priority. This will not change the workshop loading booking.
Note: The parameter Edit owning operator needs to be set higher or lower than your POS priority on your operator file.
Code: The Resource/Operator mapping code
Note: The Code will be set to a resource code when selecting a resource from the Resource code drop-down.
Resource code: The drop-down lists all the resources from your resource file
Resource description: The resource description from the resource file
Operator number: The drop-down lists all the operator numbers from your operator file
Operator name: The operator name from the operator file
Once you have mapped a resource to an operator and you are loading work you will be prompted to Add line to meet the customer. Select Yes and the Load form will be displayed. Select a day you want to book the work for and you MUST assign the Meet and Greet line to a service advisor or a technician who has the skill. This will then become the Owning operator on your WIP, which is displayed on the Operators tab.
