The WL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE Menu is displayed when you select the System maintenance option from the WORKSHOP LOADING MENU. From this menu, you can access and maintain supporting files for the Workshop Loading module.
Prevent/allow access: This option, which is available on all modules of the system, enables the system administrator to prevent users from gaining access to the Workshop Loading module or, if that has already been carried out, to allow them access once again. It can also be used to display a list of users currently logged into Workshop Loading, possibly prior to deciding whether or not to prevent any further access, or to clear the Workshop Loading file of any users who at one time logged into the system, but did not log out correctly, and have left a corresponding entry in the control file.
Lock Touch screens: This enables the user to lock and un-lock the touch screen manually if a problem occurs. This option is only available to Priority 9 users.
Archive clock entries: This option archives old WIP and idle clockings up to the number of days set in the Idle clock retention parameter. The clocking records will be moved from the clock file to the clock archive file. This can also be set up to run in Timed operations.
File usage statistics: This option provides you with a list of all the files within the Workshop Loading database, and the percentage in use so far as each one is concerned.
Reset in use flags: This option resets any files that have an 'in use' flag set against them.
Verify files: This option is used to verify that all the files within the Workshop Loading database are intact and that no corruption has occurred. It is a vital routine to carry out after a hardware or software fault has occurred.
System parameters: This option contains the parameters that are used when carrying out the Workshop Loading.
System controls: The system controls are maintained by the system and should not normally be edited.
Control defaults: These are the default system controls to be used when setting up a new company.
Create files: These files will normally have been created for you at installation. The option to Create files requires an access priority of nine and should be used only by ADP personnel, or, in certain circumstances, by the System Manager under the guidance of ADP.
