End-of-Year Log File

When the End-of-Year (EOY) log totals are calculated, the system automatically updates the values on the End-of-Year log file (SM.eoylg). This file is used to produce the LIFO (Last In First Out) report. Standard functionality exists that allows you to display records on this file.

To view the End-of-Year log file:

  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Stock management option and Company you require.

    The STOCK MANAGEMENT menu is displayed.

  2. Select the System maintenance option and click OK.

    The SM SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

  3. Select the End of year options option.

    The End of Year Options menu is displayed.

  4. Select the View SM.eoylg file option.

    The End-of-Year Log form is displayed.

End of Year Log Form

The End-of-Year Log form is displayed when you select the View SM.eoylg file option from the End of year options menu. From this form you can view values on the End-of-Year log file.

Part number: The number of the part to which the values apply.

For year: The year to which the values apply.

Packed part number: Packed part numbers are used by the system to sequence the stock file in the same way the manufacturer stores the part on file.

Opening value: The stock value at the start of year.

Closing value: The stock value at the end of year.

Yearly sales: The total value of sales throughout the year.

Yearly purchases: The total value of purchases throughout the year.

Variances (@audit): The total value of variances throughout the year.

Stk tot @ begin: The total stock quantity at the start of year.

Stk tot @ eoy: The total stock quantity at the end of year.

Average cost: The calculated average cost price of the part at the end of year.

Yearly LIFO total: The calculated LIFO value at the end of year.
