Calculating SM End-of-Year Log Totals

In order to produce the LIFO report, the Calculate SM.eoylg totals option is run by an End-of-Year (EOY) procedure. This option updates the values on the End-of-Year log file and prints the LIFO report to the currently selected printer. For each part, the report lists the following details:

• Year
• Quantity in stock at the end of the year
• Difference between the quantity in stock at the start of the year and the end of the year
• Average Cost
• Value Calculation
• Total stock value at the end of the year

Note: The Parts log retention field on the SM system parameters MUST be set high enough to enable the records to still be available at the end of the year, e.g. 366.

To calculate SM End-of-Year log totals:

Warning: It is unlikely that you will ever run this program manually. It is normally run automatically by an EOY procedure.

1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Stock management option and Company you require.

   The STOCK MANAGEMENT menu is displayed.

2. Select the System maintenance option and click OK.

   The SM SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

3. Select the End of year options option.

   The End of year options menu is displayed.

4. Select the Calculate SM.eoylg totals option.

   The Update totals form is displayed.

5. Click the Process button.

   A message is displayed that advises the total number of records updated.

6. Click the Cancel button to return to the SM SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu.
