Carriage Table

The carriage codes can be used purely as an internal memo to record van delivery routes for parts. The carriage code is entered on the Codes tab of a parts WIP. Alternatively, they can be used to denote true carriage methods such as Courier or T.N.T., and automatically forward the carriage charges onto the customer. Standard functionality exists that allows you to create and maintain records.

Note: If you want to use the carriage code to forward carriage charges onto the customer, you must identify the part number used for carriage in the Carriage part field on the Fastrack tab of the POS parameters.

To access the carriage table:

  1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Point-of-sale option and Company you require.

The POINT OF SALE menu is displayed.

  2. Select Miscellaneous options.

The SO MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Carriage table option.

The Carriage table form is displayed.

Carriage Table Form

The Carriage table form is displayed when you select the Carriage table option from the SO MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu. From this form you can create and maintain carriage codes.

Carriage code: Enter the single-character carriage code.

Table Details Tab

Description: A description of the carriage code.

Amount [1-9]: Enter any relevant carriage charges.

Note: The system uses the value entered in the first field (Amount 1) for carriage charges in Point-of-Sale (whether or not the Weight calculation box on the carriage code is ticked).

Weight calculation: The weight of a part is recorded on the Other tab of a stock record. If this box is ticked, the system multiplies the weight entered on the stock card by the quantity of the part entered on the WIP in order to calculate the total weight on the Carriage Value form in Point-of-Sale.
