Generate Drill Down

The Generate drill-down option takes the raw Management Accounts data files and builds the 3 dimensional drill down display model. The model is constructed using the analysis codes that exist on the MA expense code and cost centre records.

Note: If any changes are made to the analysis code structures it is necessary to run this option to reflect those changes.

This option should be run in conjunction with Copy NL Actuals to MA as it is this program that imports the latest actual values into the MA data files.

To generate a drill down

Note: This option is usually run as part of the end-of-day chain within Timed Operations, however, the MA database can be updated at any time from this menu option. No separate end-of-year process needs to be run.

1. From the Rev.8 Master Menu, select the Management accounts option and Company you require.

   The MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS menu is displayed.

2. Select the Generate drill-down option.

   The various data sets are displayed.

3. Select the dataset that you want to re-create drill files for (i.e. CA = Current actuals) and click OK

   A Generate Drill-Down form is displayed.

4. Click OK

   Autoline extracts the values from the XX.MA.accts file and creates a drill file for the selected dataset.

For example:

• If CA - Current Year's Actuals is selected then the following drill file is created: XX.MA.dddCA
• A drill file - XX.MA.dddYY is created for each dataset where XX is the MA company number and YY is the name of that dataset
