Prevent/allow Access

This option, which is available on all modules of the system, allows the system administrator to either prevent users from gaining access to the vehicle stockbooks module, or, if that has already been carried out, to allow them access once again. It can also be used to display a list of users currently logged into vehicle stockbooks, possibly prior to deciding whether or not to prevent any further access, or to clear the vehicle stockbooks control file of any users who at one time logged into the system, but did not log out correctly, leaving a corresponding entry in the control file.

Once the option is selected from the System maintenance menu, the Prevent/Allow access form will be displayed.

Status

By simply checking or uncheck the checkbox, the following two options are available to you:

Prevent-access: If the Prevent access option is taken no further input is required. The program will simply re-display the module and company identification form, with the status updated to show that further access has been prevented, with the login code and terminal number of the user who has prevented the access. Existing users will not be affected, but once they log out of the module they will not be able to regain access.

Allow-access: Similarly, the Allow access option requires no further input but simply updates the module status to 'access allowed' and allows users to gain entry to the vehicle stockbooks for the company/branch concerned.

Buttons

Display Users: This option displays a list of users currently logged into the vehicle stockbooks module for the given company or branch, including possibly illegal users who have not logged out correctly. The screen will show the terminal number(s) which are 'logged-in', together with the respective description(s) or location(s), the login code(s) of the user(s) and their priority access level(s). With this information it should be possible to make contact with the users concerned and get them 'logged-off' if necessary.

Clear Illegal Users: The Clear illegal users option also requires no further input, but simply clears the control file of all details of users logged into the module with the exception of the current operator. This option should only be run once all genuine users of the system have logged off.

Exit: Returns you to the VS SYSTEM MAINTENANCE MENU.

Help: Displays help.
