From time to time, a user may exit from the franchise data module illegally, either through a power failure, or by turning the terminal off whilst still logged into the module, or some other hardware or software fault. If this happens, the files which that operator had open at the time, if any, will still register as in use. When a stand-alone routine is required to be run, it checks first of all that none of the affected files are in use by any other operator. It is possible therefore, that the program may still think that the file is being used, when it fact it no longer is.
Should this situation occur then you should do two things. Firstly by using the Display users option in the Prevent/allow access program, they should ascertain that no other users are logged-in. Once this has been done, they should then run the reset in use program to correct the situation, which will access each of the files and reset the in-use flag.

Warning: This option should only be run after a system crash or failure and only when there are no other users in the Franchise Data or any of its options. It is generally run by the system supervisor. It should only be run after consultation with KCC support personnel.
