QUOTATION DEFAULTS (QUOTATION TAB)

Overview

The Quotation Defaults Tab is used to define general top-level customer defaults for the values used within the Fleet Quotation form.

The following fields are displayed:

Selection of the [...] button allows selection of a discount override code that has been created in Override Management.

Selection of the [...] button allows selection of a VRB override code that has been created in Override Management.

A checkbox which, if unticked, denotes that the full VRB is taken. If ticked then the percentage that is to be passed on to the customer must be entered in the adjacent field.

The percentage VRB that is to be passed on to the customer if the Override Default VRB % checkbox is ticked.

Selection of the [...] button allows selection of an option override code that has been created in Override Management. For example, some customers may be set up to be quoted free metallic paint.

An icon which enables entry of customer notes that are displayed automatically for this customer when a quotation is generated.

Offers the facility to alter Residual values for PLG vehicles by customer using a percentage value. This applies regardless of Manufacturer. This percentage value uplift is then used when creating quotations for the customer and the calculation values are amended automatically in the quotations process.

Offers the facility to alter Residual values by customer using a monetary value. This applies regardless of Manufacturer. This monetary value uplift is then used when creating quotations for the customer and the calculation values are amended automatically in the quotations process.

This is a sensitive area for control and as such there is a priority applied to this field. This needs to be set at a high priority level. The priority is defined in the existing Fleet Quotations / System Parameters file which controls who can edit the values within this field. The final solution allows a fully automated, controlled process in Quotations which takes account of any monetary uplifts required.

Tip: The following logic is used: Both the adjustment % and the Value adjustment fields need to be checked. If the RV% adjustment (QRVADJ) field is <> to Zero, then check the monetary adjustment field (QRVADVAL), if this is <> to Zero, then do nothing, if it is greater than Zero, then use the +/- value. If on the first check (QRVADJ) is <> to Zero then use the value, then check the value adjustment field (QRVADVAL), if this is equal to Zero, only use the value adjustment, if it is <> to Zero, use the adjustment value and add to the value already calculated. If both the RV% adjustment and the Value fields have values in them, apply the % adjustment first, then the monetary values adjustment second.

Tip: For each of the above three fields a 0 percentage denotes that there is no adjustment to the tyre tables.

The profit for PLG vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a percentage within this field or, alternatively, a monthly profit monetary value in the Monthly Profit (Cars) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The profit for commercial vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a percentage within this field or, alternatively, a monthly profit monetary value in the Monthly Profit (Comm) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The profit for heavy commercial vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a percentage within this field or, alternatively, a monthly profit monetary value in the Monthly Profit (Heavy) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The profit for PLG vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a monetary value within this field or, alternatively, a percentage value in the Margin % (Cars) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The profit for commercial vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a monetary value within this field or, alternatively, a percentage value in the Margin % (Comm) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The profit for heavy commercial vehicles can be determined for this customer by entering a monetary value within this field or, alternatively, a percentage value in the Margin % (Heavy) field. This value overrides any margin % held at the top level.

The monthly overhead value to be included within the quotation for PLG vehicles.

It is possible to enter a defaulted overheads value into Kestrel using a system parameter. The value is zero, a percentage of total costs, or a monthly value. This overheads value, be it a percentage or a monthly amount, is stored in the the Calculation Details Tab within System Parameters in a fields called Overhead Value (FQ_SP_OVHDVAL). Another system parameter field called Overhead (FQ_SP_OVHDCALC) determines the type of value (percentage or amount). This is also stored in the the Calculation Details Tab.

This field enables the overheads value to be stored as a monthly cost, but to hold it at customer level. When a quotation is produced the system checks at this customer level to determine a specific overhead value for the customer being quoted; if a value is found, then it is used in preference to the default system value. The customer default overhead value is always used in preference to the system default value.

The subsequent overhead value can always be individually edited on a quotation even after it has been set by using this default field value when the quote is first created.

The format stationery id used for the generation of customer bespoke printed quotations. This format is added to theformats list when the print option is selected within the quotation.
