Sales Analysis

The Sales Analysis option from the CRM Campaign menu allows the operator to examine the sales analysis for all customers associated with a given campaign.

When this program is accessed from the Campaign menu, you must enter a campaign name. The full campaign name is nine characters with the first five specifying the file from which the campaign was generated, either conta, targt or vehic followed by a full stop and then the three-digit unique name as referred to in section 4.4. There is a search facility to assist in locating the correct file.

When a file has been selected, you will be shown the number of records that are in the file and may specify the selection criteria for sales analysis in exactly the same way as the departmental Sales analysis option detailed in section 6.3. of the CRM Operator Manual, and the output will also be in the same format, except that the analysis displayed will be in line with the criteria for all customers in the selected campaign.

Sales analysis menu

The Sales Analysis menu is displayed when you select the Sales analysis option from the CRM main menu.

Departmental analysis: Allows you to graph sales Analysis by Department, Product and Sale Type. Analysis radio buttons are available for the prime elements of Sales, Discount, Costs and Units. Derived analysis radio buttons are also available for Profit, Margin (percentage) and Unit profit. Three other radio buttons will allow you to select the graph mode in terms of which year's data is required, this-year, last-year or a two-year-comparison, and whether a two-dimensional or three-dimensional graph is required.

Record analysis: Gives you the option of graphing sales Analysis by Company, Customer, Source of business, type of business or Sales executive. Sales analysis is shown by Department, Product and Sale Type. Analysis radio buttons are available for the prime elements of Sales, Discount, Costs and Units. Derived analysis radio buttons are also available for Profit, Margin (percentage) and Unit profit. Three other radio buttons will allow you to select the graph mode in terms of which year's data is required, this-year, last-year or a two-year-comparison, and whether a two-dimensional or three-dimensional graph is required.

Update sales analysis: This program processes all of the outstanding records in the invoice buffer and the contact file requiring update to the various analysis files and writes the latest record numbers back to the control file.

Edit control file: The CRM sales analysis control file is used to define the detail of the record level analysis updated in respect of companies, customers, source of business, type of business and sales executives. The sales analysis is gleaned from the nominal ledger invoice buffer, thus ensuring that It is updated automatically without any further input and It reconciles to the reported accounts

Daemon controller: The sales and contact analysis updating daemon task is normally stopped at the beginning of the end-of-day sequence and re-started prior to the completion. The daemon task can be started and stopped (halt-daemon) manually using this program, monitored to see at exactly what times the sales and contact analysis files were updated for the current day and, in addition, an update forced (force-daemon-process), regardless of the time frequency System parameter.

End of day run: This program will be called by the end-of-day process automatically but can be selected from the menu manually should the need arise, if for instance the standard end-of-day routine is not going to run. The sales analysis file holds details for the current day in isolation, as well as the month to date and the previous twenty-four months. The running of this program causes the daily figures to be deleted in preparation for the start of the next day.

End of period run: This program will be called by the end-of-day process automatically when the end-of-day is run as an end of period. It can however be selected from the menu manually should the need arise, if for instance the end-of-day routine is not going to run. The sales analysis file holds details for the current day in isolation, as well as the month to date and the previous twenty-four months.
