Parameter Setup Form

See also Fluid Dispenser Parameters editor.

This form is displayed when you select File > Parameters... from the menu bar of the Setup form. It enables you to set up the parameters affecting the interface between the fluid dispenser and Autoline.

If you leave these parameter values blank, they are assigned by the fluid dispenser daemon. You can change them subsequently.

Point-Of-Sale company: Autoline Point-of-Sale company for which fluid dispensing software is available

Note: A fluid dispenser parameter record must exist for every Point-of-Sale company for which fluid dispensing software is available.

Title: Text appearing in form title bars and messages, the fluid dispenser franchise name, for example

Fluid name: Word(s) indicating the type of fluid dispensed, for example Oil

Centilitre conversion factor: Multiplication factor to convert the dispenser amount to hundredths of a litre, which is how Autoline records dispenser transaction quantities.

If, for example, the dispenser quantity represents hundredths of a litre, Centilitre conversion factor should be set to 1 because no conversion is necessary.

If the dispenser quantity represents tenths of a litre, Centilitre conversion factor should be set to 10.

If the dispenser quantity represents whole litres, set Centilitre conversion factor to 100.

If the dispenser quantity represents multiples of a litre and a half, set it to 150.

Note: The action of the Create button automatically populates Centilitre conversion factor, therefore you should not need to change it.

Sales ledger adjustment account: Sales Ledger account used for fluid dispenser batch adjustments

Enabled: If selected, it indicates that the fluid dispenser software is live. If it is unselected, fluid dispenser transactions for the Point-Of-Sale company are suspended.

Override code: An emergency validation number set by the fluid dispenser program. Transactions with WIP numbers of zero and their override code set to this value are listed in Point-of-Sale as Unlinked. The default override code, assigned when parameters are created, is 00000. Unlinked transactions are:

Valid point-of-sale departments.: Point-of-Sale company WIP header department letters, for example W (Workshop) or B (Bodyshop). You can link WIPs created in those departments to fluid dispenser transactions.

Note: In Valid point-of-sale departments, letters are not comma-separated. See Department codes in the SO MISCELLANEOUS OPTIONS menu.

Issue change priority: Point-of-Sale operator priority below which access is denied to the Issue Now field on the main Fluid Dispenser Status form in Point-of-Sale when actioning fluid transactions. It also determines whether the operator can unlink any transaction from the selected WIP. Values are blank or 0-9.

Note: Issue change priority is normally set to the priority of supervisors in the service department. Supervisors can change issue quantity if necessary. If it is zero, nobody has supervisor access.

Number of days to keep old transactions: Age of transaction records, in days, after which they are purged if actioned. If zero, transactions are never purged. Blank or 0 to 999.

Directories:

PC transfer directory: Folder path where transaction files reside on the dispenser computer. (The default is made from the fluid dispenser franchise name with a subdirectory for the Point-of-Sale company number.)

Note: Transaction files are copied between PC transfer directory on the dispenser computer and DMS transfer directory in Autoline. All transactions are recorded in the archive file (held in DMS archive directory).

DMS transfer directory: Folder path where transaction files reside in Autoline

DMS archive directory: Folder path where the archive file resides in Autoline

PUSH BUTTONS:

Close: Returns you to the Setup form, abandoning any changes since you last clicked Save

Help: Displays this help page in a web browser

Edit: Makes all fields editable except Point-Of-Sale company

Create: Displays a Create Parameters menu containing a list of Point-of-Sale companies, from which you must select the one for which the new parameter record applies. When you click OK, you are returned to the Parameter Setup form containing a new record of default parameter data ready for you to amend.

Delete: Enables you to remove the displayed parameters record

Cancel: Resets the form, undoing any changes made to the parameters for the selected Point-of-Sale company.

Save: Stores the amended parameter record
