Filename Form

This form's title and use depends on the context:

It enables you to specify a filename to be used in (or after) the file transfer.

(...) filename:

Filename used in the file transfer

Tip: Type the filename or use the buttons to build it automatically. Click the Validate button to see an expanded version in the Validated filename field.

Auto settings:

Company: Appends ^COM to the filename, interpreted as the company initiating the transfer, for example company 01

Tip: Click the Validate button to see an expanded version of the filename in the Validated filename field.

Module: Appends ^MOD to the filename, interpreted as the module that the transfer is running from, for example MS

Parameter...: Enables you to add a parameter to the filename you are building by selecting one from the dictionary structures

Sequence: Appends ^SEQ to the filename, enabling the transfer record to specify the retrieval of a set of files by using a wildcard * specifier. Hashes may be entered to specify the numbers of digits to be used for the sequence numbering in the 'Sequence image' window. For example an image of ### allows numbers from 001 to 999 to be used. If the maximum sequence number is reached a message 'Can not set file sequencing, sequence limit met' is displayed and no files are transferred.

Tip: The Sequence button is enabled only on a GET. You can name them all the same except for a sequence number appended to each filename, for example, ADVICE.00001, ADVICE.00002, and ADVICE.00003, and so on.

Time settings:

This group enables you to append a date and time to the filename. For example, if you click Century, Year, then Month, the string %cc%yy%mm is appended to the filename. If you then click Validate, that part of the filename is displayed as, for example, 200604 (century 20, year 06, month 04) if it is April 2006.

Century: Appends the current century to the filename as the text %cc. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current century, for example 20.

Year: Appends the current year to the filename as the text %yy. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current year, for example 06.

Month: Appends the current month to the filename as the text %mm. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current month of the year, for example 04.

Day: Appends the current day to the filename as the text %dd. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current day of the month, for example 15.

Hours: Appends the current hour to the filename as the text %hh. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current hour of the day, for example 19.

Minutes: Appends the current minutes-past-the-hour to the filename as the text %MM. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current minute of the hour, for example 35.

Seconds: Appends the current seconds to the filename as the text %ss. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current second of the minute, for example 00.

Day number: Appends the current day number to the filename as the text %dn. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current day of the year, counting from January 1st.

Julian day: Appends the current Julian day number to the filename as the text %jd. When the record carries out a file transfer, it interprets this as the current day of the year, counting from January 1st.
