File Transfer Record Validation Form

This form is displayed in the following circumstances:

If the validator encounters faults that prevent the record from being saved, it displays the following message below the failures and warnings grid:

Record validation FAILED. Please amend the record as above.

Where validity is not compromised but problems could be caused when the record carries out a file transfer, it displays the following message below the failures and warnings grid:

Record validated, but warnings have been issued. Please check the warnings to avoid problems when the record carries out a file transfer.

You should make a note of these and, when you return to the editor, adjust the record as necessary.

GRID:

Contains validation exceptions (Failures, Notes and Warnings). Grey title lines indicate the field group to which the validation failure lines beneath it pertain. For example, the title line General record details corresponds to the General details group on the File Transfer Editor, whereas the title line Autoline and remote filenames corresponds to the File information group on the File Transfer Editor.

If you are processing a transfer without actually sending the file — typically when testing a file transfer process without actually transmitting data — a warning to that effect is listed here.

Type: Category of validation exception. One of:

Failure!: One or more fields does not meet validation criteria and the record would not work if run. You must correct the problem before saving the record.

Note: The category Note indicates a minor validation exception that does not prevent the record being saved

Warning: The category Warning indicates a minor validation exception. However, you should adjust some fields or populate them when the record carries out a file transfer. Check the fields before saving the record.

Description: Cause of the validation exception and corresponding advice, for example: The post transfer Autoline path may contain illegal characters. Ignore if the path is overwritten at run-time.
