Creating a New File Transfer Record Using the Wizard

See also creating a new record by completing a blank record in the editor.

To create a new file transfer record using the wizard:

  1. From the Master menu select Manufacturer systems and the appropriate manufacturer.

    The Operations menu is displayed.

  2. Select the General utilities option.

The MS Utilities menu is displayed.

  3. From System Maintenance, select the Generic file transfers option.

The File Transfer Editor is displayed.

  4. Select Tools > Record creation wizard from the menu bar or click the Record creation wizard toolbar button WizardMode2.gif.

The File Transfer Creation Wizard is displayed containing a Record Name tab.

  5. Continue by following the instructions for selecting a record name.

Tip: To use the wizard's online help, the easiest approach is to click the Help button on the individual tab rather than navigate the help system's links. The reason is that some tabs are displayed (or not) depending on your previous selections, which the online help cannot detect.

File Transfer Creation Wizard Form

This form is displayed when you select Tools > Record creation wizard from the menu bar or you click the Record creation wizard toolbar button WizardMode2.gif on the File Transfer Editor. A step-by-step series of tabs guides you through creating a file transfer record.

TABS

Note: The tabs are not all available in parallel, but are sequenced so they are displayed in turn as you progress through the wizard. The tab changes when you click the Next button.

PUSH BUTTONS:

Help: Displays this help page in a web browser

Cancel: Returns you to the File Transfer Editor

Back: Returns you to the preceding tab in the wizard's sequence

Note: Which tab the Back and Next buttons display depends on your selections.

Next: Displays the next tab in the wizard's sequence

PROGRESS INDICATOR:

Indicates how much of the wizard's process you have completed, as a proportion of the whole. It updates only on transition from one wizard tab to the next. (This differs from most progress indicators, which update while you watch to show how much of an automatic process has completed.)
