To validate your file transfer record:
Note: This procedure follows from setting up timed functions.
Click Validate...
The file transfer record is checked for faults and inconsistencies. If the validator encounters faults that prevent the record from being saved, it displays this message below the failures and warnings grid:
Record validation FAILED. Please amend the record as above.
Where validity is not compromised but problems could be caused when the record carries out a file transfer, it displays this message below the failures and warnings grid:
Record validated, but warnings have been issued. Please check the warnings to avoid problems when the record carries out a file transfer.
Make a note of any reported faults and, when you return to the Validate tab, click Back to return to the tab on which the fault(s) originate, adjust the record as necessary, and click Validate... again.
You create a valid file transfer record.
Click Save.
A dialog box displays the message:
Record created successfully.
Click OK.
You are returned to the File Transfer Editor containing your new record, File transfer record ID being the only selectable field.
Tip: To edit the record, select File > Edit selected record from the menu bar or click the Edit the current record toolbar button on the File Transfer Editor.
This tab is not user-selectable. It is one of a series displayed, each in turn, on the File Transfer Creation Wizard. Its principal feature, the Validate record... button, is equivalent to selecting Tools > Validate Record on the File Transfer Editor's menu bar or clicking its Validate the GFT record toolbar button
PUSH BUTTONS:
Validate record...: Validates the file transfer record
Help: Displays this help page in a web browser
Cancel: Returns you to the File Transfer Editor
Back: Returns you to the preceding tab in the wizard's sequence
Save: Displays a Return box containing either the message Record validated OK or, in the case of minor validation exceptions, Record created successfully. In the former case, when you click its OK button, a further Return box containing the message Record created successfully is displayed. When you click the Record created successfully box's OK button, you are returned to the File Transfer Editor showing your record in display mode. (Save is enabled only when the file transfer record has been validated.)
