File Transfer Creation Wizard: Timed Functions

If you regularly upload or download files from/to a remote server or client (PC, CD-ROM or floppy disk), the generic file transfers program enables you to perform the transfer manually or as a scheduled event (timed operation).

You can set timed operations for the selected transfer record, for example to set a file transfer in a daily process, but only send the file every seven days.

To set up timed functions:

Note: This procedure follows from setting up post-transfer email.

1. Tick Enable timed functions.

   The Edit timed functions... button is enabled.

2. Click Edit timed functions..., set up the form according to the procedure on that form's help page and, after returning to this tab, click Next.

   The Validate tab replaces the Timed functions tab.

3. Continue by following the procedure for validating your file transfer record.

Timed Functions Tab

This tab is not user-selectable. It is one of a series displayed, each in turn, on the File Transfer Creation Wizard.

Enable timed functions: A tick enables the Edit timed functions... button

PUSH BUTTONS:

Edit timed functions...: Enables you to set or edit timed operations for the transfer record

Help: Displays this help page in a web browser

Cancel: Returns you to the File Transfer Editor

Back: Returns you to the preceding tab in the wizard's sequence

Next: Displays the next tab in the wizard's sequence
