If you regularly upload or download files from/to a remote server or client (PC, CD-ROM or floppy disk), the generic file transfers program enables you to perform the transfer manually or as a scheduled event (timed operation).
You can set timed operations for the selected transfer record, for example to set a file transfer in a daily process, but only send the file every seven days.
This form is displayed when you click the Timed functions... button in the Miscellaneous options group on the File Transfer Editor. It is also displayed when you click the Edit timed functions... button on the Timed Functions tab on the file transfer creation wizard.
It enables you to set or edit timed operations for the selected transfer record.
Enabled: A tick enables timed functions
Number of days between transfers: How many days elapse before Autoline automatically runs the file transfer without running the specified timed operations
Date used for timer: Starting point for the timer's count-down to the next file transfer timed operation. One of:
Last attempt date: The timer's count-down to the next file transfer timed operation starts on the day a file transfer is attempted
Last success date: The timer's count-down to the next file transfer timed operation starts on the day a file transfer succeeds
Tip: Use the appropriate drop-down button
to select a value for Date used for timer and Continue options.
Continue options: Sends a file outside the normal sequence. One of:
Always continue: No prompt before carrying out the transfer
Never continue: Halt without carrying out the file transfer
Warn before continuing: Prompt the user to confirm before carrying out the file transfer
