File Transfer Creation Wizard: Post Transfer Actions

The term Post transfer actions covers the renaming, moving, or deletion of the original file(s) when the transfer completes.

Selecting Do nothing or Delete for Select required action requires no further information to be entered on the post-transfer action tab. However, Rename, Move, and Copy/archive require you to set a path and filename. You can enter the path and filename either in the transfer record (using the post-transfer action tab) or, if you leave the path and filename blank (by not clicking the Edit file path and name... button), you must complete them when the record carries out a file transfer.

To set Autoline and remote server post-transfer actions:

Note: This process continues from specifying the remote path/filename in an FTP or Copy transfer and from specifying the PC path/filename in an API type transfer.

  1. Use the drop-down button Drop-down to Select required action to be carried out when the file transfer completes.

If you select Copy or archive, Rename, or Move, the Edit file path and name... button is enabled.

  2. If applicable, click Edit file path and name... to set the target path/directory and/or filename. For a PUT, this is the location and name that the transferred file is to be set to. For a GET, it is the path and name of an existing file on the remote system or PC.

Tip: Click Validate to display an expanded combined path and filename in Validated name.

  3. Click Next.

If you are on the Autoline post-transfer action tab, it is replaced by the Remote post-transfer action tab or the PC post-transfer action tab, depending on the transfer type. Repeat this procedure for that tab (the process is identical).

If you are on the Remote post-transfer action or PC post-transfer action tab, it is replaced by the Autoline purge options tab. Continue by following the instructions for setting Autoline purge options.
