See also File Transfer Creation Wizard: Post-Transfer Actions.
The term Post transfer actions covers the renaming, moving, or deletion of the original file(s) when the transfer completes.
Selecting Do nothing or Delete requires no further information to be entered. However, Rename, Move, and Copy/archive require you to set a path and filename. You can enter the path and filename either in the transfer record (using this form) or, if you leave the path and filename blank (by not clicking the Autoline actions... or Remote actions... buttons), you must complete them later; when the record carries out a file transfer.
Post transfer action
This group is part of the File Transfer Editor. It enables you to set up the renaming, moving, or deletion of the original file when the transfer completes, whether the transfer direction is GET or PUT.
Post transfer (Autoline) actions: Action to be carried out on the file in Autoline when the file transfer completes
Post transfer (Remote) actions: Action to be carried out on the file on the Remote server or PC when the file transfer completes
Each of these fields can be set to one of:
C Copy/archive: Copies the file to another location and gives it a new filename
D Delete: Deletes the file(s)
Note: In Post transfer (Autoline) actions, do not select Delete with a transfer direction of GET because that causes it to delete the file immediately after retrieving it. Correspondingly, in Post transfer (Remote) actions, do not select Delete with a transfer direction of PUT because that causes it to delete the file immediately after creating it.
N Do nothing: No action is taken
M Move: Moves the file to another location
R Rename: Gives the file a new name
Tip: Click the drop-down button
to select from a list. To set the paths and filenames (for actions other than N Do nothing), click the Autoline actions... and Remote actions... buttons.
PUSH BUTTONS:
These buttons are enabled when Post transfer (Autoline) actions and Post transfer (Remote) actions are set to a value other than N Do nothing.
Note: In each case you can leave the path and filename blank (by not clicking these buttons) to configure them when the record carries out a file transfer, enabling you to enter company specific information at that time.
Autoline actions...: Enables you to build a new path and/or filename on the Autoline server for Copy or archive, Rename, or Move
Remote actions...: Enables you to build a new path and/or filename on the PC or remote server for Copy or archive, Rename, or Move
