You may leave Host/IP, Login, and Password blank and set them when the record carries out a file transfer. File type, however, must be set in the file transfer record. In other words, all settings except File type can be left blank and configured when the record carries out a file transfer. This can be useful where several companies connect to the same system, each having its own login and password.

This group is part of the File Transfer Editor. It is editable only if you have selected FTP as the transfer Method.
Note: If you cannot see this group beneath the General details group box, ensure that the transfer Method required is FTP and set it in the General details group.
Host/IP: Identifies the remote system to which the file transfer program connects
Tip: Host/IP can be in the form of a name in the host table or a standard IP address. You can leave Host/IP, Login, and Password blank and specify them at the time of the transfer.
Login: Login to gain access to the remote system
Password: Password to gain access to the remote system
File type: Format of file to be sent. One of:
- ASCII
- Binary
Tip: Click the drop-down button
to select a File type.
Note: File type must be completed to enable the transfer. It can not be left blank to complete later.
Passive mode: A tick enables passive-mode file transfers, which some systems require.
Verify transfer: A tick causes the transferred file to be checked against the original regardless of whether verification is hard-coded.
Note: Verification can be hard-coded, but this could cause problems on some systems unable to retrieve the transmitted file. By ticking Verify transfer, you can select the verify flag on a system by system basis.
