If a process such as a parts extract or advice note collection runs regularly, files may accumulate that are no longer required. You can arrange for their removal, including deleting files older than a specified number of days, by using purge options.
To set post-transfer file purging:
Note: This process continues from setting remote server post-transfer actions.
If you are on the Autoline purge options tab, to enable file purging on your Autoline system, tick Enable Autoline file purge. If you are on the Remote purge options tab, to enable file purging on the remote system, tick Enable Remote file purge.
The Edit purge options... button becomes enabled.
Click Edit purge options... and complete the purge settings (by following the process on that help page) and, after returning to this tab, click Next.
If you are on the Autoline purge options tab, it is replaced by the Remote purge options tab. Repeat this procedure for that tab (the process is identical).
If you are on the Remote purge options tab, it is replaced by the E-mail options tab. Continue by following the instructions for setting up post-transfer email.
This tab is not user-selectable. It is one of a series displayed, each in turn, on the File Transfer Creation Wizard. It has two variants with different titles:
As the Autoline Purge Options tab, it is displayed when you complete the Remote Post xfer action tab in the file creation wizard.
As the Remote Purge Options tab, it is displayed when you complete the Autoline Purge Options tab in the file creation wizard.
When a transfer is complete, Autoline can perform other tasks, such as deleting files older than a specified number of days. This tab is where you set up these actions.
Enable [Autoline/Remote] file purge: A tick enables the Edit purge options... button
Tip: Click the Edit purge options... button to select the required purge action, including the value (ticked or unticked) of Enable [Autoline/Remote] file purge.
PUSH BUTTONS:
Edit purge options...: Enables you to set file purge operations when a transfer is complete, including deleting files older than a specified number of days
Note: The Edit purge options... button is enabled only when Enable [Autoline/Remote] file purge is ticked.
