Vehicle Models

Note: This help system contains standard information, some of which might not apply to your franchise. There might be a help file specific to your Autoline configuration. It could be either in the help system specific to your manufacturer, or displayed when you click the Help button on the relevant form or menu.

See also Creating a Model Code Record.

The Models form enables you to find a vehicle model to use as a search filter criterion (by populating Model on the Filter tab of the Labour codes/times maintenance form). It also enables you to delete model code records.

What do you want to do?

Models Form

This form is displayed when you click the Models button on the Labour codes/times maintenance form. It enables you to find a vehicle model to use as a search filter criterion (by populating Model on the Filter tab of the Labour codes/times maintenance form) when you are searching for model code records. It also enables you to delete model code records.

Delete: Displays a prompt enabling you to cancel the deletion. If, instead, you confirm it, Autoline deletes the selected model record.

Finding a Model Code Record

This procedure selects a model code to use as a labour code or level filter criterion when you browse to a level. You also use this procedure as part of the procedure to delete a model code record.

To find a model code:

  1. Click Models on the Labour codes/times maintenance form.

    The Models form is displayed.

  2. If the grid does not contain the row representing the model you want, enter the Grid column and Filter text to specify it (or a range of model records containing it) and click Refresh.

The grid is re-populated with models, including the one you want.

Tip: If the grid remains empty, check that Grid column is correct for your Filter text. For example, if you entered descriptive text in Filter text, you should select a Grid column of Description rather than Model code or Slot.

Note: If you are using this procedure as part of the procedure for Deleting a Model Code Record, return to that procedure (skip the next step in this procedure).

  3. Select the grid row for the model you want and click OK.

You are returned to the labour codes/times maintenance form with the Show times for option button on the Filter tab selected and your selected model in the Model box.

Deleting a Model Code Record

To delete a model code record:

  1. Follow the procedure Finding a Model Code Record except for the last step (in other words, do not click OK).

The grid is populated with models, including the one you want to delete.

  2. Select the grid row representing the model you want to delete and click Delete.

A Delete this model? dialog box displays the following message:

Warning: Do you want to permanently delete this model ([model code]) and ALL times defined for it?

  3. Click Yes.

You are returned to the Models form with the selected model row deleted from the grid.
