Note: This help topic contains standard information, some of which might not apply to your franchise. There might be a help file specific to your Autoline configuration. It could be either in the help system specific to your manufacturer, or displayed when you click the Help button for the form form set out in this help file. The title of that form here is Labour Code Setup Form.
There are two distinct kinds of setup required for the labour times administration program:
You must ensure that the Autoline system is set up correctly. This is normally carried out by, or on advice from, an Autoline consultant.
Additionally, you must update your system with labour time code files (supplied by the manufacturer).
What do you want to do?
Update labour time code files (upload and optionally convert the files in one procedure)
Convert labour time code files (where the files are already on your Autoline system)
This form is displayed when you select the Labour times setup option from the Labour Code menu. It enables you to upload and convert a new release of data on the Autoline system.
Note: The form might have a different name, depending on your particular Autoline installation (Operation setup form, for example). Its appearance might be different, depending on your user priority. The Labour Code menu option that displays this form might also be worded differently (Labour code setup, for example).
Progress: During file conversion, this indicates how much of the process is complete as a proportion of the whole.
Backup LTS tables: If this check box is selected, labour time files (database tables) are copied to a backup folder before the newly uploaded files are converted.
Initialise LTS tables: If this check box is selected, the program will initialise all tables involved, and all local changes (such as descriptions or labour codes) will be lost.
Buttons:
Exit: Returns you to the Labour Code menu.
WARNING: When you click Upload, Autoline removes all existing labour time files before it converts the new files. Ensure that the new files are in place and that a backup has been taken recently (select the Backup LTS tables check box). Any local modifications to the labour operation time records will have to be re-applied.
Upload: Uploads the files from the hard disk on drive C of your computer to Autoline. If the upload is successful, the files are then automatically converted, in which case you do not need to click Convert.
Note: The source files supplied by the manufacturer must be located on the hard disk on drive C of the computer from which the upload is being run. If any files are missing, do not proceed with the conversion.
Convert: Converts the files uploaded to Autoline into the required format and converts files in the local transfer directory into LTS tables. This is usually carried out automatically immediately after the files have been uploaded.
Tip: You can resume an interrupted import at a later date, for example when you click Cancel in response to the Convert? prompt dialog box instead of Continue. Or, a timed operation might already have uploaded the data file, and you might then want to convert manually.

When an update is issued by the manufacturer you must upload the supplied files (database tables) to your Autoline server. This procedure uploads the files and enables you optionally to initiate their conversion to Autoline format.
WARNING: This procedure removes all existing labour time files before it converts the new files. Ensure that the new files are in place and that a backup has been taken recently (select the Backup LTS tables check box on the Labour Code Setup form). Any local modifications to the labour operation time records must then be re-applied.
To update labour time code files (where the source files are on the hard disk on drive C of your computer):
Select the Labour code menu option from the Operations menu.
Note: The Labour code menu option might be differently worded in your system. LTS code menu is a typical alternative. Similarly, the Labour Code menu might have a correspondingly different title.
The Labour Code menu is displayed.
Select the Labour times setup option.
Note: The first time this program is run, Autoline sets up the required parameters before it displays the labour code setup form. In that event, please enter any information requested according to the parameter settings.
The Labour code setup form is displayed.
Click Upload.
Note: The source files supplied by the manufacturer must be located on the hard disk on drive C of the computer from which the upload is being run. If any of the files is missing, do not proceed with conversion.
The files are uploaded from the hard disk on drive C of your computer to Autoline and a Convert? dialog box displays the following message:
Transfer dir: [folder path on your Autoline server containing files for transfer]
If you selected the Backup LTS tables check box, the Convert? confirmation box contains the additional text:
Backup dir: [folder path on your Autoline server containing backup files]
Click Continue.
The files are converted to Autoline format so that they can be used in Point-of-Sale. The progress bar indicates how much of the conversion is complete as a proportion of the whole and messages such as Converting LTS times file [filename]... are displayed in the Status bar. When it finishes, a dialog box displays the message:
Conversion completed successfully.
Click OK.
You are returned to the Labour Code menu.
Use this procedure where the labour times code files are put on the system by any means other than an upload. An example is where you restore files from a back-up.
Note: The data files are normally converted immediately after you upload them as part of the upload procedure.
To convert labour time code files already on your Autoline system:
Select the Labour code menu option from the Operations menu.
Note: The Labour code menu option might be differently worded in your system. LTS code menu is a typical alternative.
The Labour Code menu is displayed.
Select the Labour times setup option.
