This option sets up the required dealer codes for the main dealer site and also sub-dealers. As you create records, the system automatically creates the default parameters record for the dealer codes and companies. The dealer code mapping file is used to map dealer codes to the appropriate Point-of-Sale company, and franchise - in this case, General Motors. You already have a GM dealer code. This may consist of one code for a group, or a separate code for each company. The dealer mapping file requires a record for each company even if they share the same code.

This form is displayed when you select Company/dealer code mapping from the SERVICE, REPAIR AND WARRANTY CLAIMS Menu. It edits mapping for company and dealer code settings and their links.

Dealer code: Dealer code that you want to edit or delete. Dealer code relating to the group's main dealer.
Note: In the UK, all dealers are considered to be main dealers.

From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu, select the Warranty V2 option.
The SERVICE, REPAIR AND WARRANTY CLAIMS Menu is displayed.
Select Company/dealer code mapping.
The GM Warranty Dealer Codes form is displayed.
On the GM Warranty Dealer Codes Form, select File > Add code from the menu bar, or click the Add code toolbar button.
The Add New Dealer Code form is displayed.
Enter the Point-of-Sale Company number for which you want to create the parameters.
Tip: Click the ellipsis button to perform a search on POS company numbers.
Enter the dealer code of the group's Main dealer. Must be six characters.
Note: In the UK, all dealers are considered to be main dealers.
Select the Main dealer? check box if this company/site is the main dealer.
If this is selected, the main dealer code is also added to the site dealer code. This field then becomes read-only. (That is, you can no longer interact with it.)
Enter the Site dealer code (the repairing dealer code) for the individual site.
This is the main dealer code on the main dealer company, and is automatically populated if the Main dealer? check box is selected.
Select the Are payments used? check box if payments are used for this company.
When you have completed all the fields, click Create.
This automatically creates the dealer code(s) and the dealer code parameters and the company-specific ones.
If a record already exists for this dealer, but with a different dealer code, the following message is displayed:
A record already exists for this dealer but with a different dealer code. Do you wish to over-write it with the new dealer code? Cancel/Overwrite
Click Overwrite if you want to overwrite it. (Otherwise, click Cancel.)
The new dealer code is added to the grid.

In the grid on the GM Warranty Dealer Codes form, select the record for the dealer code you want to edit.
The Edit code , and Delete code
toolbar buttons and menu bar commands become available.
Select File > Edit code from the menu bar, or click the Edit code toolbar button.
The Edit Dealer Record Form is displayed. The Point-of-Sale Company number and Payments line? fields are automatically populated (or selected if relevant).
Enter the new dealer code, then click OK.
The following message is displayed:
Dealer record updated.
Click OK.
The amended dealer record is displayed in the grid.
From the GENERAL MOTORS OPERATIONS Menu, select the Warranty V2 option.
The SERVICE, REPAIR AND WARRANTY CLAIMS Menu is displayed.
Select Company/dealer code mapping.
The GM Warranty Dealer Codes form is displayed.
In the grid on the GM Warranty Dealer Codes form, select the record for the dealer code you want to delete.
The Edit code , and Delete code
toolbar buttons and menu bar commands become available.
Select File > Delete code from the menu bar, or click the Delete code toolbar button.
The Delete Dealer Code form is displayed, with the following message:
Are you sure that you want to delete the selected dealer code? Y/N
Click Yes if you are sure you want to delete.
The following message is displayed:
Record deleted.
Click OK.
The dealer code record is deleted from the displayed grid list.
