This option enables you to perform maintenance on the Archive Headers, in conjunction with the Yearly ATRAN headers menu option. Be aware that this option is to be used with caution, and it is advised to contact support personnel prior to taking any action related to archive files.
To access this option:
1. From the Autoline master menu select the Nominal Ledger option and the company you require.
2. Select the Period End option.
3. Select the Mount/Unmount/Backup archives option.
The Mount/Unmount/Backup archives form is displayed.
RADIO BUTTONS
Mount/Unmount: As the description suggests, mounts or unmounts a particular year's data, depending on it's current state.
Tape: Will archive the data to a tape.
Archive List Selection
You are able to select a year's data to Mount/unmount or archive to tape by double clicking on the relevant year and radio button. At this point an information box is displayed in order to warn you if the data has never been backed up, and that the files will be deleted if you proceed, making the data irretrievable.
By clicking Close this enables you to proceed,[when mounting/unmounting] and take the option to delete the archive [select Yes from prompt box] or abort the operation [select No from prompt box]
When the Tape radio button is selected,and an archive year is selected, a prompt box is displayed, whereby you can Change the backup device from DATTAPE,or select No if you don't want to change.
When selecting No, an information box is displayed explaining that the archive files will be copied to DAT tape, and to ensure the relevant media is installed.
By clicking Close at this point, you have the opportunity to Abort or Continue the process.
