The generate returns order option is used to create a returns order based upon stock that is being held in your returns location as defined in Stock Management system parameters. When this option is used the system will automatically create a negative order for parts found in the Returns location. For this feature to be successful, the SM.rtrns file must be in place, so that the Generate returns order program can determine whether a part in this bin has already been processed, and is still waiting to be physically returned. For importers, the SM.rtrns file will generate a hidden menu called Customer returns in the miscellaneous menu.
Warning:You should exclude this location number from the sell from field in the operators record for general sales staff. Set the bin location number to 0 if you are not using the Returns location feature.
To access the Generate Returns order form:
The PURCHASE CONTROL Menu is displayed.
The Generate Returns Order form is displayed.
The Generate returns order form is displayed when you take Generate stock order form option from the PURCHASE CONTROL Menu.
The form will offer the following three options.
PUSH BUTTONS:
OK: To generate the returns order
Cancel: Returns you to the Purchase control menu without creating a returns order.
Help: Displays help on the current application in your default company browser.
