The Delete P45/P46 return data option is a part of the internet in year movement returns system, the Delete P45/P46 return data option will only appear on the LEAVERS/JOINERS REPORTS menu if you are a priority 8+ user.
The main function of the Delete P45/P46 return data option is to allow you to remove old submitted P45, P46 data and the associated XML data files and log files. The P45/P46 extract files are typically created to handle 8 years of data and grow in size as the extract data option is used. Data should not be deleted until at least 4 years old and is ideally kept on line for 8 years.
To access Delete P45/P46 return data:-
The Payroll Password form is displayed.
Enter your payroll password.
The PAYROLL menu is displayed.
Select the Reports & enquiries option.
The PR REPORTS AND ENQUIRIES menu is displayed.
Select the Leavers/joiners reports menu option.
The LEAVERS/JOINERS REPORTS menu is displayed.
Select the Delete P45/P46 return data option.
The Delete internet in year movements return data form is displayed.
The Delete internet in year movements return data form is displayed when the Delete internet in year movements return data option is selected from the LEAVERS/JOINERS REPORTS menu.
Choose a tax district/reference and sequence to delete data for.
Tax district/reference: The three digit tax office number between 001 and 999 followed by a forward slash (/) and up to twelve character tax office reference field.
Tip: Click the Ellipsis button
to select a reference.
Click the Delete button.
This completes the internet payroll process for in year movements.
